Custom Spring Work
Spring repair is a mechanical service that involves replacing broken leaf springs found on various vehicles. We custom arc each new leaf to match the existing spring pack to keep the vehicle ride height the same side to side. The leaf repair process begins with an overall inspection of the vehicle. We look at the age, kilometers, and purpose of the vehicle. Using this information, along with the customer's opinion and budget, we determine if a whole new pack or just replacing the one broken leaf is necessary.
Spring Repair
-
Increased Load Capacity: Overload springs are added to the primary spring pack to increase the vehicle's load-carrying capacity. They provide additional support when the truck is carrying heavy loads, helping to prevent the primary springs from becoming overstressed.
-
Improved Ride Quality: When the truck is not heavily loaded, overload springs do not typically engage, allowing the primary springs to handle the ride quality. When the truck is loaded, the overload springs come into play to maintain a more balanced and stable ride.
-
Reduced Sagging: Heavy loads can cause a truck to sag, leading to an imbalanced and unstable driving experience. Overload springs help to reduce sagging by providing extra support, which keeps the truck's ride height more consistent even under heavy loads.
-
Extended Spring Life: By sharing the load between the primary and overload springs, the overall stress on each spring is reduced. This can help extend the life of the primary springs and other suspension components by distributing the load more evenly.
